Motivated Mondays

I think Monday is probably the most common day to "start" a diet but since I don't believe in dieting, I believe in healthy living, I'm going to use Mondays as my motivation day.  Sometimes the weekends are tough, and we fall off the healthy living wagon a bit.  Monday can either feel like a continuation of healthy weekend, a clean slate after an unhealthy weekend or an insurmountable obstacle if you've really fallen hard!  No matter which camp you fall into, extra motivation is always a good thing!

No matter what your current fitness level, you can always find motivation and inspiration wherever you work out.  Personally, I love running Memorial Park here in Houston. The basic path is 3 miles of well maintained dirt. It's popular with all kinds of different people, and this is one of my favorite things about it.

When you're running and you're energy level is dropping, open your eyes. I mean really open them and see who else is out there pushing it with you. There's old, young, fat, thin, fast, slow- every level of fitness slogging through the humidity. Sometimes it's the fast runner who pushes me to run just a little faster. Other times it's the person who's clearly just starting their fitness routine, maybe feels uncomfortable just being out there (haven't we all felt that way at some point!) and yet there they are, sweating it out even when it'd be easier not too. Of course you have to be your biggest cheerleader, but when the drive is getting low, Memorial Park is a great place to borrow a little drive from your fellow fit seekers!

Where do you get your extra motivation?
