Tough Mudder

This weekend in Austin I am doing the Tough Mudder run with my husband and two close friends of ours.  My good friend Atina, (I've talked about before as the friend who works out with me at my gym and who motivates me like crazy to eat clean!) suggested we do this several months ago.  She had just started working out again after giving birth to her second son and wanted to lose the last of her baby weight.  I had always wanted to do this but had never felt like it was something I could do or would have anyone to do it with.  When she suggested it, I was excited and frankly it seemed so far away that I had no reservations saying yes. Now here it is and I will admit I am scared! It's a tough course (check it out at and despite how hard I work out, I never think of myself as fit!  But I've been posting about my fears on Facebook and the support I've received is incredible.  If everyone else knows I can do this, why don't I know it? So in the last few days I've switched to totally positive thinking.  Of course I can do this! Worse case, I walk 10 miles! That's not that hard! I work out, I lift heavy and I run lots so I CAN do this!  No, I WILL do this!

Having the Tough Mudder as a goal has kept me super motivated all summer and the accomplishment of doing it will constantly remind me that I can do anything I set my mind too.  I can't wait to post Monday with all the good news about this crazy challenge we're doing!

What's the hardest thing you've done workout wise? How did you get through? How did you feel when you accomplished that goal?

  1. Enjoy your tough muddier experience tomorrow and post some pictures when you can.

    You can do it!

    1. Pictures posted! A few here and a few on Facebook. You can really see how muddy we got but also how much fun we were having!
