Happy Independence Day!

It's the fourth of July and we have a ton to celebrate around here! First off, it's the 4th! So that's fireworks, holidays, bbqs, family and of course, celebrating the great nation of America!  I celebrated my home country's birth date on Monday and now I get to celebrate the country I've come to proudly call home today!

This is also my first 4th of July as a legal resident of the USA and I have to say, I love it here! Don't get me wrong, Canada is awesome.  It's my first home and I am proud to be Canadian but the USA gets a bad rap from time to time and no it's not perfect (nothing is), but it is a great place to live with tons of opportunities!  I've felt nothing but welcomed since moving here and I look forward to getting my citizenship in a few years.

More celebrating...I passed my Personal Training Certification! So I'm certified to do what I've been doing for years! Haha! But in all serious, this was a big thing for me.  I love learning about training and nutrition and I love sharing my knowledge but without a formal certification, I felt uncomfortable going much further into the industry than I already have.  We always have more to learn but having some credentials behind me is great (stay tuned for details on how you can benefit from my new certification!).  I was really nervous about this exam because although I know my stuff in the gym, I worried that I might not know enough about the body.  Turns out, I was wrong, I know a lot! Of course I'll keep learning because I love fitness and health but we are definitely celebrating in my house today - celebrating the 4th, my legal stay in the USA and my new career possibilities thanks to my personal training certification!  What a great day!

To stay fit, I had planned on waking up early to do some push-ups, sit-ups and stretching and a few leg/butt exercises, but instesd just rested, jet skiied anf swam. I am taking a bit of a holiday break today but I won't be going crazy with food because I've indulged a lot lately and have been feel puffy and lethargic because of it! I want to feel like me again!  Are you staying fit this 4th?

How are you celebrating the 4th? What's your favorite thing about the 4th? About America? Are you interested in personal training?
