Motivated Mondays - Happy Canada Day

Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian Readers!

How was everyone's weekend?  Mine was awesome! We spent Saturday grilling at the pool with good friends - and grilling is such an easy to eat healthy, delicious food without anyone being stuck in the kitchen all day.   I managed a long-ish run on Saturday as well and my hip held up remarkably well which is a great victory! At this rate, I may actually be reading for the SeaWheeze.

Sunday, my husband took me zip-lining for my birthday and it was so much fun! We went to Zip Lake Travis, which has 3 of the longest zip-lines in Texas and one of the top 10 longest in the USA.  There was a bit of hiking involved and activities like this always help remind me why I stay fit all the time and try to avoid the up and down yo-yo weight loss.  I never, ever want to feel like I can't do something or I can't keep up because I am not fit.  These weren't crazy hard hikes or anything but it was enough that a few people had to take rest breaks and while I definitely believe in listening to your body, especially when it's super hot out, I was really glad I never felt the need to take a break during any of the hikes, even with all the equipment hanging off me!

Another great thing about today? Yep, it's Canada Day! Even though I don't live there anymore, Canada will always be home and I'll definitely be repping the red and white today - I even started my day with a very red tomato, peppers, cucumber, celery and carrot juice.  After a weekend of fun and heading into the July 4th weekend, I thought I better up my nutrients!  I'm sure everyone is celebrating in Canada today and unfortunately there isn't much going on down here but we'll definitely be celebrating Canada and the USA all week and weekend.  For everyone who is celebrating, remember to indulge in what you really love, skip what you don't and keep moving today!

On the motivation front, I have a ton of schoolwork to get done before we head out of town for the US long weekend so that's definitely keeping me motivated but even when I have tons to do, exercise always has to fit in somewhere or I am just unpleasant to be around!

How was your weekend? Have you ever tried zip-lining? Are there any activities you want to try but don't due to weight or fitness?  How are you celebrating Canada Day or are you celebrating July 4th?

Remember to follow me by email so you never miss a thing!
