New Year, New Goals!

Last year I wrote a post of New Years Resolutions and never really got around to posting it. This year I am going to publicly declare my goals for 2014 on Day One  Two of 2014 (maybe stop procrastinating should have been on this list!). So without further ado, here we go:

1) Compete in a bikini competition. After much thought, obsession, worry, fear and support, I have finally committed to competing in a National Physique Committee bikini competition. I've hired a trainer, I've started tweaking my diet and before my birthday (June 26) I WILL compete!

2) Complete 8 courses for my masters in nutrition. I have been moving really slowly through this and frankly, it's not good enough! I need to step up my game!

3) Take one full day off the internet each month. That's no phone, no computer, no iPad. I tend to "kill time" a lot just staring at FaceBook or Instagram or iFunny. Lately, it's been really bugging me how often you can be hanging out with a group of people and at least one person is mindlessly staring at their phone so I am going to try to start disconnecting myself, since that's the only person who's internet usage I can control.

4) Travel somewhere I haven't been before. I have put off travel lately because my husband doesn't have the same vacation time I do but I have the itch to travel again so I think it's time to plan a trip to somewhere new.

5) Buy a second home. Most likely to rent out, like we do with our other condo but that will depend on what's happening in our lives at the time.

6) Text less and call more. It's a bad habit of mine to always default to texting people instead of calling. This year I want to get much better about just picking up the darn phone!

7) Watch less TV! The frustrating part of this one is that I don't really watch a whole ton of TV but the TV is almost always on in our house and I want to change that. This means getting me and my husband out of the habit of just turning the TV on even when we aren't planning on watching some thing specific.

What are your goals and resolutions this year?
