So I'm reading this months issue of Glamour magazine and they have an article about the dangers of sugar. I thought great, finally more publications are getting that sugar, much more so than fat, are what's really hurting us.
But then, about 3 paragraphs after acknowledging that sugar is a toxin, they recommend replacing soda with diet soda. Most diet sodas are sweetened with aspartame, a potential neuro-toxin. I can't accept that recommendation.
Now if you read my post on eating for leanness versus for health, you're probably thinking I'm a hypocrite - I mean I just admitted to using more fake sugar than ever as I prepped for my first show. Ok, you got me! But here's the thing, I'm not recommending you do that! I flat out said that there's a difference between healthy eating and extreme leanness eating. I'm not making a health recommendation that you use fake sugar - I'm acknowledging that getting to a super low body fat, especially for women, may drive you to utilize a few more processed items than eating for health would.
So in sum, don't take health advice from a women's magazine without doing your own research and using your own on sense!
Do you use artificial sweeteners? Which ones?
Where do you get your health info?
