So who is behind Fat City Fit? Well, my name is Julia and I am a Canadian living in the USA (Austin TX to be specific). I have struggled with weight for most of my adult life and although I have never been obese, I have definitely been overweight. When I first started fighting the weight battle, I tried fad diets and underestimated the importance of exercise. I eventually had a good deal of success with Weight Watchers and although I think it's a great place to start your weight loss journey, I found it wasn't enough to get me where I wanted to be.
I started reading everything I could get my hands on about fitness, health, nutrition and exercise. The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn and the more I wanted to share my passion with others. When a move to Houston, TX to marry the love of my life meant that I could not work for several months and meant that I started getting a little chubby again with all the rich southern food, I decided to get serious about my career path in health and fitness. Aside from this blog, I am doing my Masters of Science in Holistic Nutrition and am a Certified Personal Trainer. I provide nutrition and fitness consulting both online and in person. When I am not obsessing over fitness, I work as a flight attendant. In what free time is left, you'll find me hanging out with my wonderful husband and our cat Frito, or with friends and family.
